Tomi Lahren Deserves No Respect

The Blaze Network suspended Tomi Lahren from hosting her show “Tomi” after Lahren revealed her pro-choice opinions last Friday as a guest on “The View.” Being the staunch Trump Republican for which she stands (in)famous, Lahren divulged that she believes in “limited government, so stay out of [her] guns, and you can stay out of [her] body as well.” Her political party was completely taken aback. Devoted fans attacked her for deceiving viewers into believing that she concurs with every conservative opinion.

On the latter, Democrats and liberals alike have commended her for her solitary diverse opinion. After bombarding the public with subtle racist rhetoric and ignorant privileged statements, it is refreshing to know that there is at least one opinion on which Lahren disagrees from the narrative of Trump Republicans. On last Tuesday’s “Daily Show,” Tomi Lahren frenemy Trevor Noah said that he “was offended by the hypocrisy.” For a network that condemns conflicting opinions, they immediately raced to silence one of their spokespeople for projecting a contrasting truth.

An elevated opinion of Tomi Lahren currently circulates among social media because she has a sole deviating opinion from conservatives. People are neglecting every racist and privileged thing that has ever articulated from her glossy pursed lips because she has one opinion that, ultimately, benefits her. Let us not forget that this is the same woman who said that the purpose of the Women’s March was to “show little girls around the country that they too can play the victim card.” Her blatant disregard for others proves that she can never be idolized for her pro-choice views.

It is all well and good that Lahren publically spoke about a belief that defers from that of her party. This does not constitute her as a feminist icon of any kind. When there are hardworking women’s rights advocates like director of Human Rights Project for Girls Mallika Saada Saar, it is embarrassing that the moment a notorious conservative demonstrates a liberal view, people rush to praise her. Tomi Lahren’s hateful rhetoric still injects poison into the body of the American people.

Before jumping to conclusions about an individual, society should learn all of the facts. Donald Trump and I may have the same favorite color, but that does not mean that I expect him to make America great again. One commonality should not define an ultimate judgement. Do not let Lahren be eulogized for finally viewing the liberal side a controversial topic.
